MUSEUM DIRECTOR (m/f/d) PRIMEVAL STONE BRAY HOZLMADEN

For our new team we are looking for a committed person to look after the museum and quarry.

  • Start of work: 01.03.2025
  • Working days: 4 days from Thursday to Sunday (but also by arrangement)

YOUR TASKS

  • Team leadership and communication with management: As site manager, you are responsible for the team at the Holzmaden prehistoric quarry. You are also the person who regularly communicates with management and reports on the museum's progress.
  • Preparation of marketing planning in coordination with management: collaboration with cooperation partners, local media and tourism authorities, conception, planning, organization, implementation and communication of internal events such as guided tours, children's birthdays, etc.
  • General administrative tasks: answering email inquiries, Google reviews, address maintenance, inventory maintenance and ordering office supplies, snacks, drinks, shop items;
  • Occasional visitor and customer service: cash register support, advice and sales of shop and gallery items.

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in retail is desirable.
  • Organizational talent and ability to coordinate logistical processes.
  • Team-oriented personality with excellent leadership qualities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with management.

  • Class B driving license

SALES (m/f/d) URWELTSTEINBRUCH HOZLMADEN

For our new team we are looking for a committed person to look after the museum and quarry.

  • Start of work: 01.03.2025
  • Working days: Friday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm (but also by arrangement)

YOUR TASKS

  • Cash register activities: You are responsible for correctly billing our customers' purchases at the cash register. You ensure accuracy and polite interaction with our customers.
  • Sales: You support our customers in selecting products. You help with the presentation of the products and help to create an attractive shopping environment.
  • Advice: You answer our customers' questions about the products, give advice and offer them competent advice. You have in-depth knowledge of the products offered in our primeval quarry.
  • Customer Service: You are responsible for ensuring that our customers feel welcome and well looked after. You respond to customer requests, solve problems and provide first-class customer service.
  • Exhibition area: You are responsible for the exhibition areas. This includes labeling and neatly arranging the products on display.

YOUR TASKS

  • Development, further development and implementation of innovative programs and offers in the Holzmaden primeval quarry
  • Identification and application for funding as well as communication with funding organizations and foundations.
  • Collaboration with educational and scientific professionals to integrate new content.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional experience in project coordination, preferably in the museum or cultural sector.
  • Experience in acquiring funding and dealing with foundations.
  • Organizational skills and a high degree of initiative.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.

  • passion for natural sciences and fossils
  • Ideally, studies in paleontology or a strong interest in this field
